At Specialised Behavioural Support Services (SBS), our goal is to empower individuals to achieve their goals through tailored support and guidance. We work with individuals and their loved ones to create personalised plans and implement practical solutions in every part of the participant's life.
Psychosocial Recovery Coaching
At SBS, We provide genuine support for children and adults living with a diagnosed psychosocial disability. We work collaboratively with participants, their families, carers, and service providers to develop and implement an effective, personalised recovery plan. We also provide guidance and support with day-to-day activities, helping to equip the participant with the tools to take control of their life and confidently navigate life’s various challenges.
NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coaching helps individuals:
- Discover their identity
- Identify and set meaningful goals
- Build life skills and coping strategies
- Better articulate and regulate their emotions
- Maintain healthy relationships
- Feel empowered about taking control of their future
Counselling
We offer targeted support for children and adults, focusing on helping them manage the emotional, psychological, and social challenges associated with their disability. Counselling under the NDIS with SBS involves one-on-one sessions during which we address your goals and work with you to implement effective, sustainable strategies to help you reach them.
Counselling services can include support with:
- Anxiety, stress, and depression
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Anger management
- Grief or bereavement
- Trauma and abuse
- Relationship and communication issues
- Emotional dysregulation
- Conflict resolution
- Building life skills and healthy habits
- Improving independence
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on identifying and changing unhealthy thought patterns. It is commonly used in instances of anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. CBT with SBS teaches coping skills, focusing on positive functional outcomes for participants.
Under the NDIS, CBT helps:
- Identify unhealthy patterns and triggers
- Increase positive thinking & behaviours
- Build on coping strategies
- Problem-solve challenging and/or uncertain situations
